Slowly but surely we’re getting our backyard done. (Slowly being the word.) You can read about where we left off here.
This is another small area we did this summer. This spot is especially for Lilly our very expensive rescue dog! We pretend like she’s a pain in our butt but obviously she’s a big part of our family.
The backyard is sunny, I mean no shade whatsoever so obviously Lilly needed somewhere to get out of the sun so we decided to get her a dog house.
As you can see she loves it. Of course it took us 3 days to convince her to get inside of it, she’s got some major scaredy cat issues when it comes to anything new. Currently we’re working on getting her to eat out of her new dog dishes. (Big issues people!)
Behind the doghouse is where the central air unit is and it drove Drew crazy seeing it so the fencing now hides it. He was right, it was a big improvement.
After we put the dog house in the place we wanted it, we decided some landscaping was in order. (Again, it took a few days to get Lilly to walk on the flagstone.)
Obviously leaving the doghouse unpainted wasn’t an option so we decided to paint it. We are painting our entire house next year so we used the color we’re using on the house. I mean Lilly’s house has to match our house right?!
Ummm…and we sorta added a name plate and some flowers and a star to mimic what’s in front of the house.
Sloan says we’re major dorks. (Shocking a 13 year old would say that about her parents right?)
And does Lilly use her doghouse? Pleassseeee…of course she doesn’t because we had an electric fence put around the entire perimeter of the house and she now lives out front on our front porch so she can visit our neighbors. (No joke she has more friends then Drew & I do!)
