Design Trends for 2012 (Part 1)

“Trendy is not a dirty word.” ~ Tommy Smythe

I know some people don’t follow design trends or at least they say they don’t follow design trends but I do and I have no problem saying that I’m a follower! Of course I don’t follow all of them and of course I don’t always spend a million dollars doing it but who doesn’t want their house to look up to date? I mean if it wasn’t for trends how would be able to distinguish what year it is in old photos?

This week I’m going to show off 5 trends that I plan on incorporating into my home this year!

I like to mix high and low items in my home and the high items usually are big pieces like my couch or chairs and with these items I tend to pick neutral colors.  Neutral can get boring though and pops of colors can help give your room some life!

So the first trend is adding unexpected pops of color!

GREEN

ORANGE

I’ve pinned all these on Pinterest under Design Trends.

Anyone planning on adding some color to their homes?
