When it comes to furniture and “transforming” it up I’ve always gone for old furniture like this…
and turned it into something like this…
You can read about this side table makeover here.
I’ve never really thought about changing anything new, because well…it’s new. The older furniture I usually buy is usually such a great deal I always think, it I mess it up what’s the big deal? Only transforming old pieces changed the other day when I was at Target and ran across this feather.
I loved it but I didn’t like the color (too blah) so out came the spray paint and minutes later (not including drying time) I ended up with this…
Easy to do and gives the piece a little punch but then this happened…
I was visiting one of my favorite blogs (The Nester) and stumbled upon this makeover she did on a new clock she bought and transformed and I thought wow, I’m a total scaredy cat wimp!! You can see the clock in it’s original state and read about this awesome transformation here.
So perhaps if you’re a wimp like me you can start off small like I did, but for me I think it’s time to step it up a notch and find something new and transform it. Stay tuned!!
