Having the baby shower last weekend meant I could finally get my husband and daughter to pitch in and clean are very neglected home and because the house was finally clean I thought I’d take the opportunity to snap a few photos of the house.
I thought a perfect place to start would naturally be the front porch and quickly realized I have many rooms in my home that still need a ton of work but I’ve managed to change the front porch about a million times already. Need proof?
The first look was the late spring a few years ago when we moved in.
My topiaries died quickly and were replaced and the door was painted and stenciled. It wasn’t my favorite but an improvement to the fake wood door. I also painted the star black to match the furniture (that I hope to replace.) We also installed some curtains to the porch.
We quickly learned the curtains weren’t going to fly, well actually they did fly off the porch and into the vacant lot next to us. We have ALOT of wind!! Oh well…you win some and lose some.
Then of course why have a front porch if you can’t decorate for the holidays!
First up Halloween. Amazing what a few pillows, accessories and a throw can do!
Then Christmas. Fresh left over greenery and pillows and ornaments. Simple again.
Today though this is what the porch looks like. I’m due in about two weeks so there’s going to be no Halloween decorating and for fall I did the least amount I could, cause this girl is tired!
We painted our house and door early this summer so now the door is black, much more my style although I still would like to eventually change out the door to something a little fancier!
A new doormat, a wreath, a new seating arrangement and some fall flowers and I say lets call it a day!
Notice the ikea blanket? It’s been everywhere in my house! I love it!
Next year I’m hoping to get rid of this furniture all together, we’ve had it for years but I’m wanting something a bit more comfortable, I’d love to come up with some sort of idea to have a long outdoor bench/bed so I can go out and read and drink my coffee.
Am I the only one who decorates and redecorates the same space over and over again!!!????
