While reading House Beautiful’s article last week another question that was asked was would you hang interior curtains in an unexpected place?

My answer to that question is yes and in fact I’ve done exactly that! My foyer is an example of hanging interior curtains in an unexpected space. While I was pulling photos of my foyer I again noticed the many changes I’ve made in the last 2 years.
When I first decorated the foyer it looked like this.
Once I finished it I knew I wasn’t finished with it, it seemed a little boring and washed out to me so I decided to stencil the curtains.

Better but still I wasn’t happy so after a few months and getting the courage to do it I painted front door black. Sometimes I need to follow my own advice and go for things instead of thinking about doing it for months.

I’ll be honest with ya…there’s still some changes to come! Some new artwork is in the works!
So like my title says decorating doesn’t happen overnight, at least it doesn’t for me!!
