Yes that’s right I’m posting about the foyer again! I promise this will be the last update for awhile. I managed to finish the small list of items I wanted to get done in the space this last weekend.

I like crossing things off the list even online! Yesterday I showed you where I painted and reupholstered the bench. Here’s the rest of the space.
I got some emails telling me they liked the space before with the curtains and I get it but you have to trust me the curtains were super white and even though you can’t tell everything else is off white, plus I have alot of pattern on this main level and it just wasn’t working anymore. I may put up a neutral curtain at some point but for now I like the simplicity of no curtains and I like getting a little more sunshine in the space.
Another thing I’m struggling with in figuring out in this space is whether I should paint the closet door black. I feel like if I paint that door then maybe I have to paint the rest of the doors black on this level of the home and that would be 4 more doors and as much as I love black I’m afraid it would really darken up the house.
The artwork was super easy. I used the same frames I’d used for the original silhouettes and replaced them with some purple botanical prints I already had laying around. They didn’t even fit the frames the prints were way bigger then the frame but I just picked a spot I liked in the print traced the size and cut it, I like that it’s sorta abstract. I also like that I was able to add some more color to the space.
I also painted the corners of the frames with a little copper rub and buff.
Because I painted the bench I decided I wanted a wooden piece in the room and I found this little wooden box from a great store called The Inventorialist located on Mass Avenue, downtown Indianapolis.
I was going to maybe change out a few more things I had in the space but really I feel a little overloaded with little household items and probably could stand to get rid of som items. Getting rid of the mirror is not an option though, it’s still one of my favorite pieces. Funny this mirror was written about twice this week once here and the other I can’t remember because Cooper seems to suck away all my smarts! Anyway’s I decided to do a dip treatment that is super popular right now to the existing vase in the entryway already.
It could not of been easier, I just took some purple paint I already had from my stash and watered it down and dip the vase sideways into the paint. Done!
You may have noticed some changes to my header (it’s not done) it now reads Laurie Jones Home. Yep it’s a change but the address for now stays the same. I decided to change the name a bit because when I first started the blog it was really sorta just for me and my family but it’s grown a bit and since there is a magazine called House & Home (not that I in anyway compare) I wanted something that was more my own. The new design isn’t done so bear with me!
